Opening the innings for DC, the right-handed Rahul played a sensational unbeaten knock of 112 runs from just 65 balls. His aggressive innings featured 14 boundaries and four sixes, propelling DC to a formidable total of 199/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Despite losing his opening partner Faf du Plessis for just five runs in the fourth over, Rahul led the charge with a commanding performance. Gujarat Titans’ bowlers struggled to contain him, with Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and R Sai Kishore managing just one wicket each.

Earlier, GT skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to field first, a decision that was put to the test by Rahul’s batting brilliance.

IPL fans took to social media to celebrate Rahul’s remarkable century in the match. They filled the micro-blogging platform with countless tweets, showering praise on the DC batter.

KL Rahul should have completed his 100 by taking singles and doubles. But he chose to play fearless and aggressive cricket.

Rahul achieved a significant milestone during the DC vs GT match by surpassing 8,000 runs in T20 cricket. He became the fastest Indian batter to reach this landmark, achieving it in just 224 innings, breaking Virat Kohli’s previous record.

Currently, Rahul is the top run-scorer for DC in IPL 2025, having accumulated 493 runs in 11 innings. His impressive performance includes an average of 61.63 and a remarkable strike rate of 148.04.

Rahul is also one of the five players to score a century in IPL 2025, joining the elite list alongside Ishan Kishan, Priyansh Arya, Abhishek Sharma, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Notably, no overseas player has reached the century mark this season. DC will aim for a crucial win against GT at home to boost their playoff hopes.
