KKR’s Special Initiative to Honor Shahoshi Ranis

Staying true to their commitment to inspire society and celebrate everyday heroines, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is bringing their ‘Shahoshi Rani’ initiative to the IPL 2025 season. Through this special initiative, KKR will honor women who have shown extraordinary courage, resilience, and determination in the face of adversity.
In the May 7 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Eden Gardens, KKR’s message will revolve around celebrating strength, inspiring change, and promoting inclusivity in the game, with the Shahoshi Ranis at the center.
To take the initiative beyond the field, players will wear practice jerseys with the ‘Shahoshi Rani’ logo prominently displayed before the match against CSK. As a token of personal honor, the names of these women will be written under the logo on the jerseys of each player and support staff—symbolizing a special bond.
This initiative not only acknowledges women’s empowerment but also carries a message of positive social change in sports.

Additionally, certain moments from the practice session will be filmed, capturing inspirational interactions between the players and the Shahoshi Ranis. These stories will be shared on digital platforms to highlight the strength and resilience of these women, not just to the team but to a global audience.
Speaking about the initiative, Juhi Chawla, co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, “Shahoshi Rani is more than just a campaign, it’s a celebration of real courage. These women are an inspiration, and we are honored to share our platform with them. We hope their stories move others as much as they’ve moved us.”
