Gautam Gambhir – 43 innings
Test Runs: Current Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir is the fourth fastest Indian to score 2000 Test runs. Making his debut in 2006, the opening batsman achieved this feat in 43 innings. He reached the milestone during a Test against New Zealand at Napier in 2009, where he scored 16 and 136 in the two innings.
Vijay Hazare – 43 innings
Vijay Hazare is third on the list, reaching 2000 Test runs in his 43rd innings against the West Indies at Port of Spain in 1953. Despite the milestone, he had a modest performance in that match, scoring just 29 runs across two innings, including a duck.
