Shashank Singh has yet to make his debut for the Indian Cricket Team, but the Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter is already thinking big. The right-handed batsman has confidently predicted that he will represent India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
At 33, Shashank Singh has been in the spotlight for his aggressive batting in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the past two seasons. He enjoyed a stellar 2025 campaign, scoring 350 runs in 17 matches at an impressive average of 50.0 and a strike rate of 153.50.
In the IPL 2025 final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Shashank delivered a scintillating 61-run innings, hitting six sixes. Despite his heroic effort, Punjab Kings fell just short, losing by six runs in the 191-run chase. Nevertheless, fans lauded his exceptional performance, applauding him for keeping his team in contention.

“I have one prediction: in the upcoming T20 World Cup in India, I’ll be playing, and I’ll be winning matches for my team. I don’t know exactly how it will unfold, but I firmly believe it will happen,” Shashank Singh said.
Shashank Singh added, “Look at Surya hitting Jofra Archer for six in his very first match—now he’s the captain of the Indian team. And then there’s Pravin Tambe. He never played for India, yet at 41, he made his IPL debut. Can you imagine that?”
Notably, before IPL 2025, Shashank Singh had predicted that PBKS would finish among the top two on the points table. Defying expectations, the Shreyas Iyer-led side topped the table and reached the playoffs for the first time in 10 years, eventually finishing as runners-up after losing the final to RCB.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place from February to March next year. Co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the tournament will see 20 teams competing for the coveted title.
