Meanwhile, while speaking to the Wimbledon social media team, Sachin said, “It is unbelievable. Just like people say Lord’s is the home of cricket, it is the Mecca of tennis. I have grown up watching Wimbledon, and right from the age of seven-eight, when I started understanding tennis a little bit, it has always been my favourite first Wimbledon and then the rest of the Grand Slams. So for me, it is the best. I have spoken to many tennis players, and they all rate this tournament as the best.”
“I especially love the Royal Box, the atmosphere there is unmatched. It is the best place to sit and watch the game. But apart from the matches, you meet so many people and have so many conversations. As far as fashion is concerned, there are so many fashion icons, Hollywood stars, football players and athletes. It is always a pleasant experience to come here, as you are introduced to so many new things in life. And for me, learning never stops, I am still learning.”
Sachin Tendulkar will choose Yuvraj Singh as his partner in doubles
When Sachin was asked which cricketer he would choose as his partner in tennis doubles, he chose Yuvraj Singh. He further said, “I have played doubles with Yuvraj Singh before. We paired up against some of my teammates in the 2003 World Cup and we became champions. So I will choose Yuvraj again, no doubt about it.”
Meanwhile, a day before the semi-finals, Tendulkar was honoured at Lord’s, where his picture was unveiled at the iconic MCC Museum. The portrait, created by artist Stuart Pearson Wright, now adorns the walls of the legends in the iconic Long Room. Apart from this, Tendulkar also rang the Lord’s bell to start play on the first day of the third Test between India and England.
