On Monday, July 7, several prominent personalities were spotted at the prestigious Wimbledon Championship, including India’s Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper-batter made a stylish appearance at the All England Club in London, just a day after playing in the second Test of the ongoing India vs England series at Edgbaston.
Rishabh Pant: By attending Wimbledon, Pant joined an exclusive group of Indian cricketers who have been invited to the tournament, a list that includes legends like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and others.
One of India’s standout performers in the Test series so far, Pant took a well-deserved break between matches to enjoy a tennis game on Centre Court. His visit was acknowledged on Wimbledon’s official Instagram page with the greeting: “Greetings from #Wimbledon, @rishabpant.”
At just 27 years old, Rishabh Pant has delivered a remarkable performance in the opening two Tests. After scoring two centuries in the first match and following it up with scores of 25 and 65 at Edgbaston, Pant played a crucial role in helping India bounce back and level the series. Across four innings, he amassed 342 runs at an impressive average of 85.50.
In the ongoing England vs India Test series, Pant has been in exceptional form. His twin centuries—134 and 118—not only stood out despite India’s loss in the first Test but also made history. He became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score hundreds in both innings of a Test match and only the second player ever to do so after Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower.
In the second Test, Pant added 25 runs in the first innings and then contributed a solid 65 runs off 58 balls in the second innings, continuing his valuable impact for the team.
Virat Kohli, Joe Root, and Other Celebrities Shine at Wimbledon

Besides Rishabh Pant, several other cricket stars were spotted enjoying Wimbledon. Former India captain Virat Kohli attended the Round of 16 match between Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur, accompanied by his wife, actress Anushka Sharma.
England’s cricketing legends James Anderson and Joe Root were also present on Centre Court. Anderson was seated a few rows back in the Royal Box, while Root, England’s top Test run-scorer, was seen exchanging greetings with Swiss tennis icon Roger Federer.
Rishabh Pant: The star-studded crowd also included notable sports personalities such as swimmer Mark Foster, footballer Chris Kamara, and the legendary West Indies batsman Brian Lara. To celebrate, Wimbledon shared a classic photo of MS Dhoni at Centre Court in honor of his 44th birthday.
