Rajat Patidar out of Duleep Trophy, LSG bowlers Mayank and Avesh also underwent surgery

Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar suffered an injury after the end of IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain and Indian batsman Rajat Patidar may be out of the Duleep Trophy as the medical team of BCCI’s Center of Excellence has advised him to rest.

Rajat Patidar was included in the team for the England tour but was ruled out due to a hand injury. He suffered this injury after RCB’s victory in IPL 2025.

Has played Tests for India

Rajat Patidar has made his Test debut for the Indian team, but injuries have become common for this Indore-born player. That’s why he has not been able to stay in the team for long.

The young player is on his way to playing for the Indian team in T20 Internationals as well, as his batting prowess was seen in the last IPL season. However, for now, Patidar will focus on his recovery, and then play Ranji Trophy.

According to Times of India, a source said, “Rajat Patidar is training in Madhya Pradesh’s off-season camp, but he is not batting, as the BCCI medical team has advised him to take a break to recover from his right hand injury. He will not be able to play the Duleep Trophy, but will be fine for the Ranji Trophy.”

LSG fast bowlers undergo surgery

Apart from Patidar, Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan are also on the road to recovery after successful surgery in June, after the Indian Premier League 2025. Both the fast bowlers are unlikely to play for the next six months. Both of them were part of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team in this IPL 2025.

Mayank played two matches for LSG in IPL 2025, but was ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. His surgery has been successful. The surgical procedure took place in June in Christchurch, New Zealand under the supervision of Dr. Rowan Scouten. He has played only three T20 matches for India against Bangladesh in 2024, taking four wickets at an average of 20.91.
