Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 65th match of IPL 2025 on Friday, May 23, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. SRH secured a 42-run victory.
Chasing a daunting target of 232, RCB’s openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli contributed solid innings of 62 and 43 runs respectively. However, the middle and lower order failed to capitalize, and RCB were eventually bowled out for 189. SRH captain Pat Cummins was the standout bowler, taking three crucial wickets.
RCB’s stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma won the toss and chose to field first. Ishan Kishan led SRH’s innings with a brilliant unbeaten 94, supported by a quick 26 off nine balls from Aniket Verma, helping SRH post a strong total of 231/6.
