Dinesh Karthik shared that he personally invited Jitesh Sharma into the commentary box during the Lord’s Test. The cricketer-turned-commentator dismissed a viral video suggesting Jitesh Sharma was denied entry at Lord’s Cricket Stadium during the recent third Test between India and England. The video, which circulated widely on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), claimed that the young batter was refused entry.

According to a social media user, Sharma was not recognized by a security guard and was therefore denied entry, until Karthik intervened to help him get inside. The incident sparked a wave of humorous reactions online, with many poking fun at the young wicketkeeper-batter.

As a commentator for Sky Sports, Dinesh Karthik met Jitesh outside the media center and brought him into the commentary area.

Addressing the incident on social media, Dinesh Karthik tweeted: “These are some issues with social media that a lot face. I invited Jitesh to the comm box—he came, I met him downstairs, and took him in, where he met everyone. By the way, this was below the media center, not the ground entrance.”

Karthik and Sharma teamed up during IPL 2025, with Dinesh Karthik serving as Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s mentor and Sharma as the wicketkeeper-batsman. RCB went on to win the IPL 2025 title.
