Chris Woakes England Lions and India A are set to face off in two unofficial four-day Test matches. On Wednesday, May 21, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the England Lions squad for the upcoming series against India A. The squad includes seasoned all-rounder Chris Woakes and uncapped all-rounder Rocky Flintoff.
As part of India A’s 2025 tour of England, the two teams will compete in a pair of unofficial Tests. Chris Woakes, The first match will begin on May 30 at St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury, while the second will take place at the County Ground in Northampton from June 6 to June 9.
Chris Woakes: James Rew to Captain England Lions in Series Against India A

James Rew has been named captain of the England Lions for their upcoming unofficial Test series against India A. Chris Woakes, he England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 15-member squad for the series.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already named an 18-member India A squad for the same series. The announcement was made on May 16, with Abhimanyu Easwaran appointed as captain. The squad includes experienced players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur, and Mukesh Kumar.

Notably, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan are set to join the India A squad for the second match of the series. After the two unofficial matches against the England Lions, India A will also play a practice match against the senior Indian team.
