Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah gave a funny reaction to a phone call from a journalist’s wife during the press conference, after the second day’s play of the third Test match against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The right-arm fast bowler told the journalists that he would not pick up the call and would leave like that.

Bumrah, who returned to the playing XI for the decisive third Test in place of Prasidh Krishna, performed brilliantly and helped restrict England to 387 runs. The right-arm fast bowler achieved his second five-wicket haul in the series. During this, 31-year-old Bumrah got his name registered on the Lord’s Honors Board.
Speaking at the press conference, Jasprit said as soon as a reporter’s phone rang- “Someone’s wife is calling, so I will not pick up the phone. I have left the phone like that.”

Bumrah is making a comeback after rest in the second Test
Jasprit has returned to the field after taking rest in the second Test, which is a part of his workload management. There was a lot of speculation about Bumrah’s possible performance, and he silenced all those speculations by taking a five-wicket haul on his first day at Lord’s. Despite all the noise and criticism around him, Bumrah is unconcerned and considers it a part of his job.
He said, “Obviously, when I play for India, I want to contribute as much as I can, and when you are able to do that, you feel good that you have put the team in a good position. So my thinking remains the same. As long as I keep wearing this jersey, people will keep making opinions about me, because every cricketer goes through this. As long as I am playing, people will keep making opinions about me.”
At the end of the day’s play, the visiting team was at a score of 145/3 and is still trailing England by 242 runs on the basis of first innings.
