Mustafizur Rahman Cleared by BCB to Join Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 – But There’s a Catch
Mustafizur Rahman Cleared for Limited IPL 2025 Action as Starc Bows Out

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been granted a six-day No-Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the ongoing IPL 2025 season with the Delhi Capitals. According to ESPNCricinfo, Mustafizur is available from May 18 to May 24, meaning he can only feature in the final three league-stage games. He will not be part of the squad if Delhi Capitals qualify for the playoffs.
Interestingly, Mustafizur will first play Bangladesh’s opening T20I against the UAE on Saturday before flying to India. However, it’s still unclear whether he will be available for Delhi’s fixture against Gujarat Titans on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Earlier this week, Delhi named Mustafizur as a replacement for Australia’s Jake Fraser-McGurk, who withdrew due to personal reasons. The announcement initially led to confusion, as the BCB claimed the pacer had not sought formal clearance. That issue has now been resolved.
Mustafizur Rahman to get INR 6 crore

Mustafizur Rahman brings significant T20 experience to the Delhi Capitals setup. In his IPL career so far, the left-arm seamer has featured in 57 matches, claiming 61 wickets. Internationally, he has been a mainstay for Bangladesh in the shortest format, taking 132 wickets in 106 T20Is.
Delhi Capitals acquired Mustafizur for INR 6 crore at the IPL 2025 auction, banking on his experience and death-bowling prowess. As the tournament resumes, DC find themselves in fifth place on the points table with 13 points from 11 matches — still in contention for a playoff spot.
With Mustafizur available for this final stretch of league games, Delhi will look to capitalise on his presence before he departs ahead of the playoffs.
