India have secured a spot in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 from Group A. The tournament, currently taking place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), features eight teams. Asia Cup: On Sunday (September 14), India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in their second consecutive win in Group A. However, the match was overshadowed by controversy, as Indian players declined to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts in a show of protest.
Following the incident, Pakistan captain Salman Agha skipped the post-match presentation ceremony. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) criticized match referee Andy Pycroft and called on the International Cricket Council (ICC) to suspend him for the rest of the tournament. Reports also suggest that Pakistan have threatened to boycott their upcoming game against the UAE if the ICC does not remove Pycroft.

The Group A clash between Pakistan and UAE is scheduled for September 17 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. If the Salman Agha-led Pakistan team boycotts the match, Asia Cup, they would be eliminated from the tournament. In that scenario, UAE would be awarded two points, moving above Pakistan in the points table with four points.
