Recently, KKR star Rinku Singh shared a touching moment involving the superstar after missing out on Team India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Though named as a reserve, Rinku was asked to handle visa formalities and was offered the chance to travel alongside Shah Rukh Khan.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Rinku felt shy and initially tried to decline the actor’s kind gesture, highlighting his humility and respect for the Bollywood icon.

Speaking to RevSportz, Rinku Singh recalled the moment he got to travel with Shah Rukh Khan after missing out on India’s main squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. “I wasn’t selected in the main squad — I was on the standby list. The team had already left, and I had to go for visa formalities. Sir (Shah Rukh Khan) also had to leave the next day. My flight had already been booked, and I was about to leave alone. Somehow, either Sir or Pooja ma’am found out, and they said I should travel with Sir. I was completely nervous — like, ‘I’m going to travel alone with Sir? How will I handle myself? What will I say?’ I tried so many times to refuse,” he said.

“But once Sir had said it, how could I say no? In the car, he gave me a lot of encouragement. That season wasn’t going too well for me, so he explained things, gave me support, and motivated me a lot. For the first time, I sat in a charter flight — and that too with Sir. Those two hours were incredible. So many beautiful things happened,” Rinku added.

Rinku has since earned a spot in India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad, set to be held in the UAE from September 9-28.
