Rishabh Pant Ruled Out for Six Weeks After Foot Fracture, Shows True Grit On and Off the Field. Indian Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant has been sidelined for six weeks following a foot fracture sustained during the fourth Test against England in Manchester. However, even as he battles through injury, Pant has won hearts off the field with a generous gesture — stepping up to financially support a struggling student from Karnataka.

Rishabh Pant returned home before the fifth Test began due to the injury, which occurred when he attempted a reverse sweep against a searing yorker from Chris Woakes. The ball took an under-edge and struck him directly on the small toe of his right foot.

The impact left Rishabh Pant in immediate agony. He removed his shoe on the field and was soon escorted off on a medical cart. Despite quick treatment from the team physio, images showed a visibly swollen foot with blood seeping from the injured toe.

In a show of incredible determination, Pant later returned to bat with his foot heavily taped and under pain relief. He scored a gritty 54 runs, giving India a crucial lifeline in the first innings. Post-match visuals revealed him in a cast and medical boot, confirming the extent of the injury.

With a six-week recovery ahead, Pant’s resilience under pressure and his kindness off the field continue to prove why he’s a true champion in every sense.

In a touching display of generosity, Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has come forward to support Jyoti Kanaboor Math, a bright student from Karnataka, by funding her college education. Jyoti, a resident of Rabakavi village in Bilagi taluk, Bagalkot district, had scored an impressive 83% in her II PUC (Class 12) but was unable to afford the ₹40,000 admission fee for a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course at BLDE College in Jamkhandi. Her father, Teerthayya, runs a small tea shop and couldn’t manage the expense.

Moved by her determination, local contractor Anil Hunashikatti reached out to his contacts in Bengaluru, one of whom was closely connected with Rishabh Pant. Upon hearing Jyoti’s story, Pant didn’t hesitate—on July 17, he directly transferred the entire ₹40,000 admission fee to the college.

“I completed my II PUC in Galagali and dreamed of studying BCA. But our financial situation was difficult. Anil Anna helped by reaching out to his friends, who contacted Rishabh Pant. He helped me. May God bless him with good health. His support means so much to me,” Jyoti told IANS.

The college expressed heartfelt thanks in a letter to Rishabh Pant, saying,
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation for your generous gesture of personally paying the first semester admission fee. We sincerely hope your support for underprivileged students continues.”

Rishabh Pant quiet yet powerful act of kindness has been widely praised, showcasing the cricketer’s compassion and role model status beyond the cricket field.
