Chasing a target of 374 runs at The Oval, Brook’s innings put England in a commanding position. He reached his century off just 91 balls, hitting 14 boundaries and two sixes. He was eventually dismissed by Akash Deep after scoring 111 runs from 98 deliveries.
Brook also shared an impressive 195-run partnership with Joe Root for the fourth wicket. By the end of the second session on day four, England stood at 317/4. Brook has accumulated 481 runs in the series, averaging 53.44.

England captain Ollie Pope won the toss and chose to bowl first in the Test match at The Oval. India were dismissed for 224 runs in their first innings, thanks in part to a vital half-century from Karun Nair. England then scored 247 all out, securing a 23-run lead, with half-centuries from Zak Crawley and Brook.
In their second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a century to help India reach 396 all out. Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, and Akash Deep also contributed with half-centuries. England currently leads the five-match Test series 2-1.
