The agency Square The One Pvt Ltd has filed a petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act alleging breach of management agreement and non-payment of dues. The matter is scheduled to be heard in the Delhi High Court on July 28.
Reddy ruled out of England Test series
Nitish Kumar Reddy is part of Team India in the ongoing Test series against England. The 23-year-old was not part of the playing XI in the first Test played at Headingley in Leeds, while he was also part of the team in the next two Tests played at Edgbaston and Lord’s. However, Reddy has been ruled out of the rest of the Test series due to a knee injury he suffered during a gym session in Beckenham.
After pulling out of the Test series against England due to injury, the timing of the legal dispute couldn’t be worse for Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is still trying to cement his place in the national team. If the case progresses, this legal dispute could not only affect his career but also his future endorsements.
Square The One had been representing Reddy since 2021, before his emergence in the Indian Premier League (IPL), close sources said. During their four-year association, the agency set up several brand endorsements and business partnerships for the cricketer.
India Today quoted a source as saying, “90 per cent of such disputes do not reach the court and are settled privately. But in this case, Nitish has refused to pay any money and claimed that he himself had finalised the deals.”
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy has reportedly returned home after being ruled out of the Test series against England and is likely to undergo rehabilitation and recovery at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.
