Shubman Gill has scored 585 runs so far in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
Indian captain Shubman Gill has made a stellar start to the 5-match Test series against England and has scored more than 585 runs in the first two matches itself. Now that three matches are left, Gill can inscribe his name in history for many reasons, provided he continues his form shown in Leeds and Birmingham. With the next challenge for Gill and Team India at Lord’s, the captain has a chance to break many records of the greatest batsman Sir Donald Bradman.

Shubman Gill is behind Bradman’s 4 world records
With three more Test matches left, Shubman Gill is preparing to re-enter his name in the record books. If the Indian captain maintains his form in the remaining matches against England, he can break at least four world records set by the great Don Bradman. These records have stood for almost 100 years.
The most important achievement is Bradman’s 810 runs as captain in the 1936-37 Ashes series. Gill is only 225 runs away from surpassing this figure. Notably, that was Bradman’s first series as captain, another record that Gill is on his way to breaking in his first series as Test captain.
An even more ambitious record, which is still within Gill’s reach, is the most runs scored in a Test series. That too belongs to Bradman–974 runs in the 1930 Ashes series in England. Gill is still 390 runs behind, but given his current form and the three Tests left, this seemingly unbreakable record could indeed be in danger.
Gill can also leave Kohli and Gavaskar behind
With 148 more runs, he will surpass Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 732 runs, which is the record for most runs scored by an Indian captain in a series (1978-79). He is just 18 runs behind Rahul Dravid’s 602 runs, which is the record for most runs scored by an Indian batsman in a Test series in England. He is 91 runs behind Virat Kohli’s record of 655 runs as Indian captain against England.
