Sam Curran had 10 dots from his 19 deliveries in the tournament opener.
Sam Curran completely outwitted Richard Gleeson by bowling a 75.64 kmph (47 mph) delivery in the first match of The Hundred Men’s 2025 between London Spirit and Oval Invincibles. Gleeson (3 off 6 balls) was the last wicket for the hosts at Lord’s.

Bowling left-handed, Gleeson failed to make any connection to Curran’s slower delivery, which he eventually swung hard but the ball went under the bat and hit the base of the off stump. This was Curran’s third wicket of the day, as he finished with figures of 3 for 18 off 19 balls.

Interestingly, Gleeson wasn’t the first Spirit player to get out to a slower delivery. Earlier in the match, Ashton Turner (21 off 14 balls) was also dismissed trying to hit a six off a similar slower delivery. He was simply caught at deep mid-wicket by Rashid Khan.
The hosts managed only 80 off 94 balls as the Invincibles registered a comfortable six-wicket win with 31 balls to spare. Rashid was named Player of the Match for his bowling performance (3 for 11 off 20 balls) and contribution of taking three catches while on the field.
