Six Indian cricketers are set to embark on their first Test tour of England as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. With key seniors retired, fresh faces have been included to bolster the squad. This marks a crucial opportunity for them to prove themselves in English conditions.
1. Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal leads the list as he prepares for his maiden Test tour of England. Since making his debut in July 2023, the stylish left-handed opener has firmly established himself at the top of India’s Test batting order.
With a stellar average of 52.88, Jaiswal has already notched up four centuries and 10 fifties in the format. While he has previously toured Australia, South Africa, and the West Indies for Test series, the upcoming England series will mark his first appearance in English conditions—a new challenge he’ll be keen to conquer.
2. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan, a stylish left-handed batter, has earned his maiden Test call-up for the England tour. Having impressed in limited-overs cricket with two fifties in three ODIs, he debuted in South Africa in 2023. Though uncapped in Tests, this opportunity marks a significant step in his red-ball cricket journey.
3. Nitish Reddy

4. Dhruv Jurel

Dhruv Jurel, selected as India’s second-choice wicketkeeper, is expected to remain on the bench with Rishabh Pant as vice-captain. Jurel has played four Tests, including one in Australia, but this marks his first tour of England. It will be a valuable learning experience despite limited playing opportunities.
5. Akash Deep

Akash Deep, part of India’s pace attack for the England series, debuted in Tests during England’s 2024 tour of India. With seven Tests and 15 wickets at an average of 35.20, he’s set to face Ben Stokes’ team again—this time in unfamiliar English conditions, marking his first Test tour there.
6. Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh has earned his maiden Test call-up after consistently impressing in white-ball cricket over the past three years. With 99 wickets in 63 T20Is—the most by any Indian in the format—and 14 wickets in 9 ODIs, the left-arm pacer is now set for his Test debut in England.
