Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has been one of the standout performers for his team in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Indian cricket star has caught everyone’s attention with his stellar batting this season, which has significantly contributed to GT’s current position at the top of the IPL points table. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Gill opened up about his life beyond cricket and shared some intriguing insights. One such revelation was how, as a child, he developed a liking for ‘parathas’ and how Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan played a key role in sparking this newfound interest.
Shubman Gill: Cinematic Inspirations, Personal Life, and Aloo Parathas
Growing up, Shubman Gill was a huge fan of Hrithik Roshan. He shared a fun memory, saying, “I used to hate parathas as a kid, but I started eating them because Hrithik’s character in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai loved aloo parathas!”
Gill’s cinematic inspirations are just as intense as his style of cricket. He revealed, “I’m a bit biased towards Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, and Cillian Murphy. I watched [Christopher Nolan’s] Dark Knight trilogy when I was a kid anything they make, I have to watch.”
On a more personal note, Gill addressed rumors about his relationship status. “I’ve been single for over three years. There have been so many speculations and rumors, linking me with different people. And sometimes, it’s so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person in my life. And I would be hearing rumors that I’m with this person and that person, when I know I’m just focused on my career. There’s no space in my life to be with someone like 300 days a year. We are constantly on the road, traveling, so there’s hardly any time to invest in a relationship.”
