Hyderabad FC has made its first move in preparation for the upcoming season by securing the services of Lamgoulen Hangshing. The I-League standout, known for his impressive performances with Churchill Brothers, has joined the Indian Super League (ISL) club on a one-year contract.
Hangshing, a reliable right-back, was in the final months of his contract with Churchill Brothers, prompting Hyderabad FC to act quickly and finalize the deal. The contract also includes an option for a one-year extension, depending on his performance during the 2025-26 season.
With this signing, Hyderabad FC aims to bolster their defensive lineup as they gear up for a significant squad overhaul ahead of the next campaign.
Hyderabad FC: Gogou’s career with Churchill Brothers so far
Lamgoulen Hangshing began his football journey with Bengaluru FC’s B team before making a significant move to Churchill Brothers in 2018. Since then, he has been a consistent presence for the Goan club, primarily operating as a right-back. However, his versatility has seen him excel as a right midfielder and a centre-back whenever required by his team.
Hyderabad FC: Over the years, the 27-year-old has accumulated more than 100 appearances for Churchill Brothers, having first featured for them in the 2018-19 I-League season. His leadership qualities and experience earned him the captain’s armband, making him a key figure for the team.
In the 2024-25 I-League season, Hangshing showcased his defensive prowess by playing 21 matches, scoring two goals, providing one assist, and helping his team maintain three clean sheets. His discipline on the field was also commendable, receiving just two yellow cards throughout the campaign.
Hyderabad FC: The upcoming 2025-26 season will mark Hangshing’s debut in the Indian Super League (ISL), a step up in his professional career. With his proven skills in the I-League, expectations are high, and a strong performance could even bring him closer to a national team call-up.
