Australia: After batting, the Indian team displayed a stellar performance in bowling.
The second match of the ongoing ODI series between the Indian and Australian women’s teams was played today, Wednesday, September 17, at the Maharaja Yadvinder International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. Host India performed brilliantly in the match, winning by a huge margin of 102 runs.

Batting first, the Indian team, led by Smriti Mandhana‘s century, set a target of 293 runs for Australia. However, when the Australians came out to chase this target, they were all out for just 190 runs against India’s excellent bowling.

Seeing the match in detail, Team India lost the toss and batted first, losing all their wickets for 292 runs in 49.5 overs. Opener and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana played a historic innings of 117 runs for the team. Pratika Rawal scored 25, Deepti Sharma 40, Richa Ghosh 29, and Sneh Rana 24.
On the other hand, when it comes to the Australian women’s bowling, Darcy Brown took the most wickets with three. Ashleigh Gardner took two, while Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, and Tahlia McGrath each took one wicket.
Kranti Gaur took three wickets
Following this, Australia were bowled out for just 190 runs in 40.5 overs against India’s impressive bowling. Opener and captain Alyssa Healy was caught out by Kranti Gaur for nine runs, while Georgia Wall failed to even open her account.
Annabel Sutherland scored 45 runs for the team, while Ellyse Perry contributed 44 runs. No other Australian player could stand up to the Indian bowling. Besides Kranti Gaur’s three wickets, Deepti Sharma took two, while Renuka Singh Thakur, Sneh Rana, Arundhati Reddy, and Radha Yadav each took one wicket.
The third and decisive match of the series will be played on September 20th at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It will be interesting to see which team wins this match and clinches the ODI series.
