The Cricket South Africa Awards 2024–25 honoured standout performers across formats. Keshav Maharaj won Men’s Player of the Year, while Nonkululeko Mlaba bagged the Women’s top honour. Temba Bavuma, Heinrich Klaasen, and Anrich Nortje were recognised in men’s formats. Mlaba also claimed the Women’s T20I Player of the Year award.
Keshav Maharaj wins Men’s Player of the Year award
Keshav Maharaj was honoured with the Men’s Player of the Year award at the Cricket South Africa Awards 2024–25. The left-arm spinner claimed 40 wickets in seven Tests between August 2024 and January 2025, including two five-wicket hauls. He also played a key role in South Africa’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, finishing as their third-highest wicket-taker as the team ended as runners-up.
Test skipper Temba Bavuma bagged the Test Player of the Year award for his twin centuries against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, which proved pivotal in South Africa’s qualification for the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 final.
Nonkululeko Mlaba wins Women’s Player of the Year award
Nonkululeko Mlaba was named Women’s Player of the Year as well as Women’s T20I Player of the Year at the Cricket South Africa Awards 2024–25. Mlaba delivered a standout performance in the Women’s T20 World Cup, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets, helping South Africa reach the final of the tournament.
In December last year, Mlaba etched her name in the history books by taking a 10-wicket haul in a Test match against England — becoming the first South African woman to achieve this milestone.
