Pakistan secured victory thanks to excellent bowling.
The 17th match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 was played today, Thursday, September 25th, between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. PAK won this Super Four match by 11 runs. With this, Pakistan also qualified for the Asia Cup final.

Batting first, PAK set a target of 136 runs for Bangladesh to win. Bangladesh could only manage 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, losing by 11 runs and being eliminated from the tournament. Following this victory, Pakistan will face India in the final on September 28th in Dubai.

To elaborate on the match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl. PAK then scored a total of 135 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. However, at one point, Bangladesh had Pakistan at 71 for 6.
However, PAK were successful in achieving this target due to a lack of wickets after that. Meanwhile, middle-order batsmen Mohammad Haris (31), Shaheen Afridi (19), and Mohammad Nawaz (25) played crucial roles in helping Pakistan reach this target.

On the other hand, Bangladesh’s bowling attack included Taskin Ahmed, who took three wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Rishad Hussain each took two wickets, while Mustafizur Hussain took one.
After this, when Bangladesh came out to chase the easy target of 136 runs given by PAK, they could only score a total of 124 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. For Bangladesh, only Shamim Hussain could score the best innings of 30 runs. Apart from this, no other player could score a big innings.
On the other hand, excellent bowling was seen from Pakistan’s side. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf took 3 wickets each. Apart from this, Sam Ayub took 2 wickets and Mohammad Nawaz took 1 wicket.
