While the team is busy fine-tuning its combinations ahead of the tournament, Sanju Samson was the center of attraction outside the ICC Academy premises, who also saw a great response from Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav amid thunderous applause from his fans.

The team left the domestic training camp and reached Dubai directly on September 4. Under the supervision of head coach Gautam Gambhir, the team conducted several sessions at the ICC Academy, focusing on batting, bowling combinations and wicketkeeping options.
In the tournament starting on September 9, the Indian team will start its campaign against hosts UAE on September 10 and then play a crucial match against Pakistan on September 14.

After one of India’s practice sessions, Suryakumar Yadav, Samson and Rinku Singh were seen walking towards the team bus when a large group of supporters gathered to welcome them. In the video that has gone viral, the spectators were seen chanting pro-Samson slogans as the fans sought autographs and selfies from the Kerala batsman.
Suryakumar was stunned to see the audience’s love for the wicketkeeper-batsman and said, “Bhaukaal hai Samson ka, local boy.” After this, Samson also paid tribute to his fans by giving autographs and posing for pictures.
It is worth noting that it is difficult for the Kerala batsman to play in the starting XI. With Shubman Gill opening with Abhishek Sharma, the wicketkeeping spot has become a direct contest between Samson and Jitesh Sharma. According to reports, observations from India’s nets suggest that Jitesh might be preferred in the role of middle-order finisher, leaving Samson out despite his recent impressive performances.
