Justin Greaves: Roston Chase was named Player of the Match

Roston Chase was named Player of the Match in the second ODI for his stellar performance with both bat and bowl. In the post-match presentation, Chase said, “Happy with the win, today we had to level the series. It was a bit difficult to start with the spinners. It was also easy to score against the fast bowlers. I love playing shots over extra cover. When he (Greaves) came to the field, I told him that there is still time and once you are set, it will be easy to score runs. I just wanted to score runs and take a wicket for the captain.”

What did both the captains have to say?

Mohammad Rizwan Siyad said, “It was a good effort, the pitch was difficult till the end. The way Rutherford bowled, he got full momentum. We may feel that we have one bowler less, but Saim and Salman are bowling regularly for us and bowling well. We will check the conditions tomorrow and decide on the team combination.”

Winning captain Shai Hope said, “We wanted to come back after the defeat, we wanted to perform better and are happy with today’s win. On the chase, Hope said, he is a great player, he is doing some great things in the ODI format, and is constantly getting better. It was a bit difficult to bat. Sherfane gave us momentum and then Chase and Greaves ensured victory for us.” The decisive third match of the series will be played on Tuesday.
